Ein Meilenstein für die PSVita:
Kazuo Hirai: Proud to Say the Vita has Outsold the N-Gage Worldwide

During Sony’s earnings announcement, VP of investor relations Yoshinori Hashitani says that Sony CEO Kazuo Hirai is proud that the PlayStation Vita has outsold the Nokia N-Gage worldwide.

While Sony has obfuscated official sales numbers for the PlayStation Vita by combining them with PlayStation Portable sales in its financial earnings report, we have a clearer indication of what portion of the seven million combined sales are Vitas when making the claim that the Vita has sold more than the Nokia N-Gage line.

Sales figures for the Nokia N-Gage are at the very least nebulous due to the lack of coverage back in 2005. Sources claim anywhere from 2 million to 3 million sales for the original version of the N-Gage which does not include sales for the N-Gage QD revision. It is unknown what set of data Sony used.

During the earnings announcement when covering hardware sales in the video game category, Hashitani seemed prepared to address the fact that Sony has not released individual sales numbers for the Vita. Before anyone asked about the numbers, Hashitani said, “If you look at the sales numbers, you can see the PlayStation Vita is doing quite well. So well in fact that our CEO says on a daily basis how proud he is of Sony for beating the Nokia N-Gage.”

Hashitani continues his story, “Yes, Mr. Hirai always knew the N-Gage would be the Vita’s competition from the start. He had set a goal for the team at Sony and by beating the N-Gage’s worldwide sales in only a year, feels satisfied that the Vita will have a long life ahead of it. For you investors, this can only be good news. For all the negativity surrounding the Vita, Sony has managed to prove doubters wrong. Who knows where these sales numbers will take us, perhaps beyond the PSP Go?” Sony has also not released official sales numbers for the PSP Go.

After moving on from the sales numbers, Hashitani addresses the Vita one last time near the end of the conference saying, “For those looking at Sony’s future, 2014 will be the year that every department will shine. Even the fledgling Vita that no one thought would make it has managed to fly on its own. As long as it continues to avoid the airplanes and larger birds, the Vita will live out its natural lifespan.” On average, wild birds live to around one and a half years.

Two weeks ago, the Vita easily destroyed Nintendo 3DS sales in Japan with 21,399 compared to 17,897 and almost beat Nintendo 3DS XL sales of 37,536.

Elsewhere in the interview Nagoshi was asked if Yakuza was coming to the PS Vita. The game producer replied affirmatively, once again acknowledging how the series has been born and bred on PlayStation hardware.

Da bin ich ja mal gespannt ob dies Black Panther, HD-Remake, PS3-Port oder gar ein eigenständiger Teil wird. Ein Spin Off wie "Kenzan" würde mir am meisten gefallen, das Samurai-Setting war einfach genial.
Hoffe man sieht spätestens was zur TGS.

AC3: Liberation soll im PSN/XBLA veröffentlicht werden.
Dafür kriegt die PSVita ein anderen AC-Ableger (Rising Phoenix)

Ubisofts E3 PK wird interessant werden.

Davon habe ich vor einiger Zeit schonmal gehört. Ein weiteres AC für die Vita wäre schon genial. Vor allem wenn die Fehler des ersten Ablegers ausgemertzt werden...

Das is n Witz. Da ist die 8 GB Karte doch direkt voll. Das gleiche mit 32 GB für meinetwegen 60 Euro fänd ich fair.

Ehrlich, bei den Speicherkarten hat Sony ganz großen Mist gebaut und sowas haut's da auch nicht mehr raus. Wenn sie ja wenigstens irgendwie ultraschnell wären, aber die sind ja genauso lahm, wie ne ganz normale Micro SD. :\
